About

about me

Most of my life, coffee was a commodity to be sold.  Other than that, it was a way to pay bills and make a living.  My family owned an "Office Coffee Service" in the Metro-Detroit area of Michigan.  As a young teen, I worked during my summer breaks fulfilling orders, repairing and rebuilding coffee machines and unloading trucks.  I cut myself more times on sheet metal than I care to remember.  While I loved the smell of coffee, I never really enjoyed drinking it until I was introduced to specialty coffee and home roasting.

Now, coffee is a beverage I enjoy and appreciate.  Even more so, the process of selecting green specialty coffee with different characteristics, roasting the coffee and then enjoying the aromas and flavors is what makes this hobby so much fun.  Follow my journey of learning and doing as I roast, brew and cup coffee at the Virtual Coffee Lab.
